Reviewing.You know, I'm having much more of a hard time with this reviewing every day thing than I was expecting. Not because the reviewing is difficult, but because it's hard to find fic that I can get through and review. No, not because of the quality, but because of the subject or where they're posted. I want to review here at LJ, but a lot of ( Read more... )

And I completely agree with what commonlogic was saying. There are a lot less epic-length get together fics, which is my favorite kind of fic, guuuh, in the anime/manga fandom. I'm not saying there aren't any, it's just less.

I would pretty much kill for an epic length first time in the ShunUki fandom. Yeah. And then I'd worship the author forever. Like seriously xD;.

I must interject, though, that I don't dislike all kid!fic. Just established relationship kidfic ;) I like kidfic in which the kid is the catalyst for them getting together. Like... there's this fic somewhere in my head where Shunsui gets this OC pregnant and Ukitake and Shunsui end up basically raising the kid together and it brings them closer and they get together in the end *g*.

Okay, I'll shut up now! ^^;;

LOL ... I shouldn't take that as a challenge, I really shouldn't, but that comment just kicked me in the butt majorly. I've had a niggling plot bunny AU! about Shun/Uki (first-time included *gasp*) floating in my brain.

Stop being in my brain Rae :(

ajksdf;asjdf your comment totally just made my month *g*. *____*

*FEEDS YOUR PLOTBUNNIES* Yes, you definitely should take that as a challenge! I was being serious! |D I would love so much to see ShunUki longfic from you, guuuh. Especially including first time. And it's AU. Omg. I love yooou *____*. Is this the AU you posted that snippet for on the challenge, or a different AU?

*rolls around in your brain*

It's a completely different AU, but I'm still working out some things for that other snippet I posted.

First question is easy, as I've made it clear to myself that I couldn't write an AU unless it was the was one and only project I dedicated my time to. Art-wise, drawing AU situations comes easier, and often exaggeration is encouraged, so yeah...

Second question is so much harder to answer. For me to stick with reading an AU, apart from consistent writing and characterization, the character hierarchy has to be there, even if it comes off a little cliche - if it's not there I find I have a hard time believing the interactions and motivations, and then it ends up feeling like the author just had this wonderful idea that could have worked in any fandom with a Character 'A' and a Character 'B ( ... )

edited for too late night posting (which made me ramble about silly issues) I like, read and write the 'what if' scenario AUs. I have only one story which would could be labelled as a 'total different universe AU' and that was my attempt to transfer two of my favourite characters into a fairy tale setting. In that particular case I wanted to meet the challenge and create something special for my 2nd anniversary at LJ. Other than that I have a mixed attitude towards 'hardcore' AUs ( ... )
