I've said on several occasions that I need to make a list and check things off so I don't forget anything important.  This is my list (with some additions) for the !8th Century events that I plan to attend.  (for Fortress Louisbourg next summer in particular)

To sleep:
Tent: or piece of canvas to sleep under  
tent floor:  A tarp for a floor covered
