i'm trying to figure out how to decorate my apartment. see, the 2 metrosexuals across the street that i share mutual friends with have a really decked out apartment. i'm talkin really really nice. so i need mine to be better than theirs ( Read more... )

start watching those home decorating shows lol ;)

i think the only way to display stuff nicely is on a bookcase, or shelf, or one of those things w/ the glass doors and shelves inside (i'm have a slow moment and can't remember what they are called)

yeh, those things are expensive tho. =/

i'll probably get bookcases because i need some for my textbooks anyways..

and i've TRIED to watch those decorating shows, but c'mon man...it's like macgyver on those things. they take like a tree and a rubber band and turn it into a coffee table. i can't do that!

i'm a girl. i like pretty things. personally, i think target has some pretty inexpensive and nice home decor. go look around and see what you like, then take some trips to pier 1 and thrift stores and other places and create a look.

i also like paper lanterns, because they create sexy lighting.

if you're going for classy/comfortable... go to the pottery barn website and order yourself a catalog. there's nothing hotter than a man that decorates with pottery barn.

hey, i ordered the catalog, but i found out that the same people that own Pottery Barn also own a place called West Elm. ever heard of it? it's westelm.com. they have the coolest stuff and it's like half as expensive as PB. they said it's geared toward college students and peopole getting their first place. you should check it out. i'm getting several things from there.
