Psych's first day as a human; backlogged

Sam... is in the common room, sitting on the biggest couch and doggedly trying to get through a level of Halo 3 without winding up dead in the first few minutes.

Gen peeks into the room, looking around for anyone else. Seeing that the coast is clear, she calls out his name in a whisper.

"Sure I'll hold her. Just gimme a mo," he says absently, not taking his eyes from the TV.

Gen blinks. 'Wha?' Shaking her head, she tries again, slightly louder. "Sam!"

The teen's dark eyes suddenly go positively enormous. "Wait! Is he human?"

[silenceandpsych]

"Yes, he's human, and he needs your help. So..." She twitches the fingers on her lowered hand significantly.

"Lemme get a blanket!" He vanishes with a PINpoint flash.

Gen blinks in surprise. 'It takes a while, but once he catches on, he catches on quick.'

"Uh... no. Not even Trent can do that anymore. Bee's too good a teacher." Sam manages to give himself a paper cut as he rips the tag off the boxers, and bleeds fairly profusely before sticking his finger in his mouth.

By now, Psych has managed to get his face to frown.

"Psych says that that just sounds like a challenge."

Sam realizes that Gen's not going to keel over because of the blood and relaxes with relief. "Uh uh, I don't do challenges. Except on the Xbox."

He examines his finger to make sure it's done leaking, then offers the pants to the new human. "Okay... do you know how to use your hands yet?"

Psych blinks slowly, deliberately, at Sam, frown deepening.

Gen suddenly coughs, sounding suspiciously like she's covering up a laugh. "Ah, he says that he's only had this body for fifteen minutes, so what do you think?" She smiles. "That's a paraphrase."

"Uh... no. In cases like that it just gets me laughed at and poked."

[silenceandpsych]

"Iscuznadoiirigh," Psych manages to mumble.

Gen translates, "He said it's because you're not doing it right."

[random_xtras]

"I'm doin' it just like Jazz showed me," asserts Sam.

[silenceandpsych]

"Thn yer obvusly doin' i' wron'."

Gen sighs. "At least it sounds like he's getting used to talking?"

Hay, look, Sam can cuss!

But he can't make it look or sound mean.... Especially not with that grin.

Gen smiles down at Sam. "You okay? Need help back up?"

[random_xtras]

"Huh?" He forgets about being mouthy and looks up with that quizzical, earnest look. "Oh. No, I can do it. Thanks."

This said, he crouched and leaped, then swung himself up in a way that would have been impossible when he'd first met the Autobots.

Gen blinks. "Woah. Impressive."
