Hey - So I took a while to see this. Silenceisdeaf has been around for a while for me. I came up with it in high school, I think. I was always the weird kid, so I was pretty much on the fringes of the school social scene. I got lonely a lot, and the whole "silence is deafening" phrase was pretty descriptive of my situation for a number of reasons. It got shortened to silenceisdeaf because there's no one to hear you even if you don't get much out of them; the not being heard part is the hardest, I think.
Don't worry - things are much better for me now. I grew into myself and I'm doing pretty well.
Well my name is Tess and I am a highschooler. The reason I asked about your name is because I am in sign language classes and am really interested things associated with the deaf. What's cool is that I am just like you were, and your phrase is so true in my life too! Right now my life is not going so well. There's a lot of chaos and drama, but school is almost over.
