Think, think, think....

Before I begin this long winded account of the twists and turns my mind takes as it ambles through the corridors of questions and ideas, I'd like to say that the Clippers commercial in which a grand piano is thrown out of the back of a truck to smash onto the ground just about made me cry. I know it's an inanimate object... I know realistically, ( Read more... )

That's quite deep. I've had my own reflections on the exact meaning of words, and how it's considerably substracted since the beginning, and how I sometimes really, really wish it hadn't. I sometimes like to think that they lost their meaning later with me than with the rest of kiddies, and really try to mean things when I say them and measure everything accurately, but after all, we're very used to talk without thinking. It's a bit complicated.
...yeah. HULLO THAR.

(How about sailor's tea? Best of both worlds.)

*hug* I like your deep type posts . . . I need the sensitivity, the food for thought. My mind's turning into mush in this infernal suburb . . . You know, I think if I become a better person (god willing) it'll be in part because of your influence. Wouldn't want to disappoint Oneesama . . .

(Ooo, good call.)

*returns hug* Thank you :)

Sorry to hear about the 'burbs... :/

You'll be just fine, you're amazing as you are and I suspect you can only get better, like wine, with age. I just hope I'm a good friend to you, I can only hope that I'm that for anyone I care about really ^^

Wow...that was magnificently eloquent *_*

Personally, I think the best way to think about it is to accept that our biology and our pasts both have helped to form us, and our continually effecting and changing our views, but still maintain a sense of personal responsibility. That we can take from the good just as easily as stumble from but overcome the bad. I think we can be optimistic and point the fingers at ourselves to continue to improve our lives and be better people. If situations shape us, make sure to put yourself in good situations if you can. Whatever small bit of control you have, excercise it and use it for better.

Thank you for this, especially. I think that nowadays it can be hard to find the concept of personal responsibility, and even harder to find people who still believe in and maintain it.

I hope you don't mind terribly if I add this to my memories, because I know I'm going to go back and re-read this post several times.
