Oh you're gonna hate me for asking a dumb question but I'm new to this. I understand everything except step one - how to set it to screen!

no that's okay! i didn't know how to do that either when i first started! okay you should have your layer palette open and under the word "layers" and right next to the word "opacity" should be a drop down bar that should say "normal".

click on it and there should be a list of things like dissolve, softlight, and there should be something that says screen and just click it.

hopefully that's clear enough, if not just ask me again!
