The Pools - WIP
Instead of working on my requests, I've been inking a sketch of my OC, Lyre, which I started awhile back.
Because Lyre's home city of Jadra has an arid, desert-like climate, keeping the city hydrated is of utmost concern. The city is built over a natural spring which feeds the city's pools. There are three pools, one for each district, where people go to bathe, do laundry, and to relax and socialize. There are separate pumps for drinking water, although most homes contain their own private pumps.
At night, the pools are drained for hygienic purposes, as well as to prevent them from freezing over, as temperatures drop below freezing at night. They are refilled at sunrise. Some people wake up extremely early to make use of the freshest, cleanest water, but not our heroine here. Lyre's just trying to get the dirt out of her clothes and relax before starting her daily routine of pissing off the city guards.
