As I start looking towards moving to CA later this month (holy crap how is it September already!!!) I was wondering if those of you who've lived in CA (northern) could answer a question for me:

How cold does it get in the winters there?  Eg. will I need sweaters, autumn-ish jackets, etc

it rains a lot in the winter, so be sure to have waterproof jackets on hand. gloves, if you're going to be biking, help a lot. sweaters are useful. i don't think it ever goes below freezing, so you don't need anything too heavy.
