Why is it that my supposed RL friends seem to think that, when I ask them if they want to hang out, I won't be horribly offended and hurt when they tell me that they might come but are "keeping their options open" (READ: "there might be an opporunity for me to participate in some underage drinking this evening and if that comes up that's way better ( Read more... )

*hugs* That's completely shitty of them. I know how you feel, as I've had such friends in the past...there's really nothing quite as disheartening than being the person people come to when the good plans fall through.

If I've learned anything recently though, it's that if something hurts your feelings that much, you need to speak up. Otherwise, they'll never have a clue how much they're hurting you *and* you won't get to have the liberating experience of getting it off of your chest.
