What the hell!? No, you're not being a drama queen. He was way out of line to say that your parents can't afford to send you to college because they themselves didn't go. We're living in a completely different time frame than our parents, and I don't think he has the right to say any of that stuff. Second of all, a friend would listen to you through everything you had to say. For him to flat out say that he's tired of the "whining" and "bitching" he just needs to twist that stick a little farther up his ass. This is a MAJOR decision for you. You're right though, a person that doesn't have a college education can move up in a company. However, I go to school with people now who their companies are PAYING their way for them to get a degree to work up in their business

I think that You should go to college so you can get a job that you enjoy. There is no "college material" all the people there have to work just as hard as you would, if not even harder. its not impossible to go to college if your parents don't want you too...prove them wrong! show them that you can do it! But more importantly do it to show yourself that you can. I didnt read the whole convo so i dont knwo if he was out of line or not... You say you hate jobs? I'm 15 and i work at McDonald's with a lot of people who never went to college. If you want a job you'll like the only way to get it is college. well i hope this helped at least a little bit... I can't really state my postion on this but from knowing what I use to do it looks like he was guilt tripping you. Or more like trying to make you feel bad for the decision that you choose. Which I think personaly is wrong. You should be allowed your freedom to do what you want without being forced into a choice that you, your self, know that you are unsure of. In this case just from what I read he was trying to sway you into feeling bad for not going. Thus how it looks like a guilt trip, and another form of forcing you into the change.
Personaly Liz, do what you think is right. You don't have to listen to what people tell you to do. Do what you want, it's your life and no one has the right to control it for you.
Hey hey. Uhm~.. I have to say that Ryan was right in what he was saying, but that he shouldn't have said it that way. Eto.. my onii-san (big brother) dropped out of college in his second semester and is now one of the manager people you spoke of making the best money that can be made at a restaraunt. So, he was wrong at that point. Oh, uh, also.. I think the thing about your parents not having enough money to send you to college because they didn't go is true too. Uhm, because my parents didn't go to college, and we didn't have any money until my dad went back to school in around 2000. So~..
But anyway, if you don't think you would make it in school, don't go. But yes, you will need to change your work ethics and stuff.. cause you will need a job, and you already know that.
