Just got back, like, half an hour ago. Here's my review of the Clay Aiken concert:
So Ben Jelen opened, and I love him, so I was all *SQUEE!* ^.^ Here's his set list:
- Wicked Little Town
- Christine
- Falling Down
- Tracy Chapman cover [don't know the name of the song]
- She'll Hear You
- Come On
I swear to God Ben Jelen channels Taylor Hanson. He does that head shake thing, he has the same posture.. I was all like "...Wait, am I watching Ben or Taylor?"
So anyways, Clay didn't take long to come on, but he was SO GOOD. First, his set list, then me babbling on about it:
- Where The Streets Have No Name
- Perfect Day
- When You Say You Love Me
- Kyrie
- I Will Carry You
- Without You
- James Taylor Medley
- Measure Of A Man
- Still The One
- I Survived You
- Chain Of Fools
- Cover song I didn't know the name of, but have been told is Roseanna [Hey, you learn something new every day ^.^;]
- You Were There
- This Is The Night
- Invisible
- Encore: Solitaire
I cried during Measure of A Man. I seriously cried. That's the first time I've ever cried because of a song. It was just.. it was so beautiful.
I thought my seats were gonna suck royally, but they were actually pretty good. I was third row, just to the left of the stage. I thought I was gonna be WAY further to the left, but I was pretty close. So I was happy ^.^
Mmm.. what else.. ahaha, yeah, so he was naming cities he'd been to recently and he mentioned he'd had dinner in Wichita the night before, so us Wichita people were like "W00T!" and then he mentioned other cities and stuff and we kept cheering and then he was all "...Do you guys just cheer at any city? Denver!" *cheer* "Seattle!" *cheer* "Minneapolis!" *cheer* "Angela, name a city" "California."
...
So that became the running joke of the night, the city of California.
I can die now. Seriously. I can totally die now.
gonna post this to
