Alexander McQueen Died, And I'm Getting Into Lolita Again

I recently heard from Uniquely Loli that Alexander McQueen had died. Not believing the news with my own eyes, I hurried over to the ever-reliable Wikipedia to learn of the details of his death. Honestly, he was one of the first big-name designers I'd ever liked, and I always thought his collections were artful and mold-breaking creations. I really admired the dark theme he always brought to his fashions, and he was never afraid to challenge the expectations that people had invariably formed about his works. He inspired me to look into fashion as more of an art form than a girlish or thoughtless commercial habit. I wish he had lived on to create more wonderful things, but the legacy he leaves behind from his short life is also more brilliant (in my opinion) than most of today's more mainstream designers.

Speaking of fashion, I've begun to swing towards the lolita side of the darkness once more. :3 I joined livejournal mainly to keep up with the Lolita community, and to get in contact with fellow lolitas. I think that I will document some of my progress here, but I can't be too sure of my commitment to writing things down here, so I'll just leave it at that....

I'm mostly excited about the lolita meetup that's happening at my local movie theatre. We're all going to see Alice in Wonderland, and I think it'll be a blast, even if the movie turns out to be awful. It'll be my first time meeting up with lolitas just to meet up with lolitas! I've only ever encountered some at Otakon, and it was never exclusively to enjoy the lolita fashion.

I think my style is swinging towards sweet lolita/maid lolita/classic lolita, 3 subsets of lolita which are somewhat unrelated. xD It might be hard making a cohesive wardrobe this way.

I may open a lolita accessories shop sometime in the future but.... we'll see about that. School always comes first!

I'm selling lolita on egl_comm sales that doesn't fit me.... it's too bad that they're both my only brand items! T_T You can see them here

My next project is getting lolita shoes. I'm thinking maybe black, because black goes with everything.....but I've also been leaning towards a pink/white motif, so maybe pink or white? Decisions, decisions.... !
