Cool :-) i didn't really plan to watch it, but a lot of peeps said it was good. Downloaded and isntalled BBC i player last night, got all the episodes in HD (8GB!) and watched it all ... it was ace. Captain Jack is a twat!
BTW - is iPlayer still quietly behaving like p2p in the background and using up all your bandwidth? I uninstalled mine 2 yrs ago, and never regretted watching off direct feed instead
i have no idea, i just clicked "download" and watched it go. Then turned off machine. I don't think you can direct feed HD, it's too large. Even my pipe can't handle 21mb/sec down. Shame really
Mine's bigger :-) me and adam were just sitting there last night, 90" between us, being able to pick up every pimple of Ianto's face, every wrinkle in Captain Jack's smile. .... HD is bad
I mean, yes, in a perfect world I would have given another five minutes air time to the development of their magic technobabble solution, so it would have come across as more interesting, and I'm not sure about the 'Beam Me Up Scotty' sequence at the end, but otherwise very impressive all the way through.
Like Delta Green, but more upbeat, and with more hairstylists! ... ;o)
more upbeat than Delta Green? there were bits of that i thought it was rather unhappy, but overall good. As ever though, yes, the finale was lacking compared to the rest. A quick last minute solution by some guy twiddling dials.
the ending is always poor. I remember the last episode of season 3 of Dr Who... he turns intoa turkey then becomes Jesus.... WTF!? we all pray for the doctor? Same thing i alaways said about Buffy. good story, then suddenly at the end they win. Oh well
I really enjoyed it... but I wanted to see the fallout - I don't care about Jack, show me what the British public did to the politicians who were trying to take their kids away. Or was it all hushed up? I want to know!
I doubt much will come of it, series like that have a way of always going back to a default current-world state unfortunately. the Whoniverse has been moving away from that recently, and at this point the ENTIRE WORLD has to agree there are aliens. Perosnally i would hope for massive upheaval. Even 10% of kids being taken has to cause some serious SHIT.
