the chance and ability to work against each other is virtually non-existant. You are part of a dynasty that may stretch bank thousends of years or possibly just ten. But you are meant to work for the same family, with one player being the head of that family, or atleast high up in it

Time for you to read Cyteen and re-read Dune for all the "spank the family to get ahead" thing.

No,i think i explained that badly. the System doesn't really allow for it, large sections aren't written with the individual character in mind, but the team working for the family goals. XP is awarded to the ship almost as much as the individual. I am sure you CAN have party conflict, but it's obviously outside system design

Fair enough. You should still read Cyteen however, its just epicly fantastic.

You should see Grey Wolf Alex's special edition copy of RT. It is *extremely* shiney. I played in his taster one-shot, which was fantastic fun; RT plays much more light-heartedly than Dark Heresy's horror, in some ways POTC but in space at times. But yeah, RT does indeed seriously rock.

And you are?
I did buy the special edition, but i actually felt disappointed by it. The book itself was nice, leather bound, but the box was shabby, and a limited affair. The Writ of Trade was lovely though.
I would probably run RT with quite a bit of horror as well :-)
Better than DH? possibly, but possibly bceause you can see the advance in the thinkin
