It's been a couple of days since my last post. . . which is kind of explained in the lj-cuts describing my adventures. . . (it's hard to post when you're afk for awhile. . .) England has been highly amusing. . . and I have a feeling it will continue to be so. . .
Friday Night. . .
Went and saw Harry Potter IV. . . if I hadn't read the book, I might have liked it. . . for a movie, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't exceptionally true to the book. . . I had nachos at the cinema that were exactly like those one would find in the US, except that the tortilla chips were thicker. . . intriguing. . .
Saturday. . .
Slept past noon (So Rick says). . . Rick has a morning class that he teaches. . . his Mother thought I was staying in bed to avoid being alone with parents. . . this wasn't true. . . I was still jet-lagged. . . Rick got home. . . we had food, he ate most of mine, seeing as I had just woken up and am not particularly hungry right after I get up. . . Got packed to spend the weekend in London. . . knowing that Rick had a surprise for me, but not knowing exactly what it was. . . Caught train to London, which wasn't bad at all. . . Arrival in London was followed by a tube ride that landed us close to our hotel. . . after checking in and taking a short nap it was off to find dinner and see Les Mis. . . the surprise being the tickets to the show. . . It was perfect and amzing. . . the only thing that would have made it better, would have been us having had time to grab food somewhere other than McDonald's before hand. . . Definitely the perfect Christmas surprise. . .
Sunday. . .
Woke up around 5 am. . . don't know why. . . couldn't get to sleep. . . had a cup fo decaf coffee, a couple of biscuits, and eventually made it back to sleep. . . woke up around 9. . . laid in bed till 10:30 or so. . . bubble bath followed by shower to rinse suds out of hair prior to conditioning. . . then time for getting dressed and packed before we checked out. . . back to the underground to begin our day of wandering around London before another train ride back to Wolverhampton. . . we had breakfast at a cute little bagel shop. . . egg and cheese on sundried tomato bagels. . . very delicious. . . next came some shopping. . . followed by tea and walks by Buckingham Palace, Big Ben/House of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. . . next we stopped in a typical British Pub for drinks. . . followed by a little wandering where we had dinner at a Subway (familiar food sounded good!). . . and then caught the tube back to the station our train was leaving from. . . arrived before our train and wandered a bit. . . which involved me buying the most wonderful apple juice ever from M & S, and purchasing some Jelly Babies, which I've discovered that I don't actually care for at all. . . train back was full of an annoying teenage girl seated across the aisle from us who would not shut up. . . not that she said anything remotely interesting at all. . . Rick was annoyed, especially since I managed to sleep through parts of it and was unable to amuse him. . . upon our return home, Rick made lovely spaghetti and scrumptous garlic cheese bread for our dinner and we ate and then curled up by the fire, me half watching Ferris Buler's Day Off and half sleeping while he prepared stuff for his Monday classes. . .
Monday, Glorious Monday!
Another day started off by me sleeping almost until noon. . . (11:30 was late enough). . . I had cereal and apple juice for breakfast which was followed by orange juice, sausage, and baked beans (all parts of a proper English breakfast). . . Rick had the same for his lunch. . . seeing as he'd already been up and taught classes by then. . . followed by phone calls to his friend Barbara, who I was originally supposed to spend today going shopping with. . . it didn't happen mainly because the logistics of me finding her at the train station in Birmingham when I've never met her, let alone seen a picture of her, were simply too unlikely for either of our likings. . . anyways, it all worked out anyways. . . Giles had called and left Rick a message, so we called him back and I ended up meeting up with him and wandering around a mall for a couple hours. . . lots of randomness ensued. . . which was follwed by Rick meeting up with us after he taught his afternoon class and us all going to the pub nearby for a drink. . . After that Giles headed off on his way back to North Wales and Rick and I headed towards Kidderminster where his evening class was waiting for him to arrive and teach. . . we almost made it there on time. . . only a couple of minutes late, which considering the boys got to talking in the pub wasn't bad at all. . . After his class we're meeting up with his friend Barbara, so I do get to meet her after all. . . it should be interesting. . . tomorrow afternoon we're planning on heading up to visit Giles, which means that I get to see quite a bit more of the UK and meet Giles Mom, which will be highly amusing. . . =) <--Yay!!!
I promise I will post again once we return from visiting Giles. . . Peace. . .
