here. This was fun~ Feel free to give me another.
The smell of the hot food tickles his nostrils and the feel of Yasu's leg bumping into his as he shifts about is a comfortable weight against his side.
Hina noisily slurps up his noodles whilst Maru and Yoko wolf their food down just as quick. Chatting idly between mouthfuls, the odd giggle here and a shove in the side there.
If he concentrated hard enough, he could make the photographer disappear. Block out the sounds of the various staff pottering about around them, and it'd just be them, all huddled round the small table. But then he hears the fast shutter of the camera go off and he's forcefully yanked back to reality.
It's not that he isn't enjoying the shoot. They all get to hang out and have fun for work, what's not to like about that? But he wishes there wasn't that extra set, or dozen, of eyes watching them. Ready to capture every little intimate gesture. He wants to take this chance and relax, but just can't seem to make himself do just that.
He wants Ryo and Ohkura to join them too. It doesn't feel right sitting round the table without them. He feels empty and distinctly incomplete. Frankly, he's on the verge of whining. Which he doesn't really want to be reduced to. He digs his short fingernails into the wood of the table and curls his toes.
“Here Shibuyan.” He watches passively as Yasu leans over and picks up the forgotten bowl of food infront of him. The other man holds out his hand for Subaru's chopsticks expectantly, his eyes twinkling and a smile firmly set in place. Subaru can't help it, he laughs loudly and passes them over. His state of melancholy successfully shattered.
Yasu starts to painstakingly remove all the little bits of crunchy vegetables that he knows Subaru doesn't like the texture of out of his bowl and into his own. His eyes focused and lips pursed cutely in concentration.
Subaru hears the photographer clicking away furiously, but it's just background noise now. It's not so much of a bother anymore, he thinks distractedly as he watches Yasu with amusement.
He tears his eyes away and glances up to see Maru eye a grain of rice clinging to Yoko's bottom lip, which gets quickly brushed away before the camera can click and capture the moment. He grins widely when Maru looks up with a pout. He feels comfortable. About time.
Yasu pats his leg when he finishes his little task, sitting just that little bit closer as if sensing Subaru needs the added extra support for the moment. Subaru rests his own hand over Yasu's under the table and squeezes tightly in thanks before promptly barking out a huge laugh as Yoko flicks a noodle that hits Hina right in the middle of his forehead. Who cares who's watching.
