Dear Author,
First off, thank you so much for offering to write a story for a complete stranger! I truly appreciate it and want you to be able to write what inspires you, but here are some things about me.
In general I prefer happy endings, but I'm good with open or ambiguous endings. I love AUs of all flavors, worldbuilding, slice of life stories, friendships, families of choice, and character development and exploration.
I think the only thing I'd run away from is graphic non-con or gore. But if they were offscreen, so to speak, it might be okay.
The following are just ideas to help if you need them, but are not must-haves.
The Cutting Edge
So, I think Walter Dorsey might have been the only character available for this exchange? I'm a little confused about that, but it works out beautifully because I've always wondered what he really thought about his brother running off to join the merchant marines and then returning with this rather odd idea about going to the Olympics YET AGAIN. I'd enjoy anything about his thought process in that two year gap between the beginning of the movie and Doug going to work with Kate, or really his thought process at any point. Even after the movie when his brother and his new girlfriend? friend? are champs.
Disney Princesses - Megara
Like I said on my AO3 form, Meg is a girl with a past. And I think that makes her a little unique in terms of Disney heroines. There's no doubt she's done some bad things, but she's not beaten down by it and I love her for that. What's it like for her to be so in love again after love burned her so terribly before?
Parks and Recreation - Donna
Donna lives such an interesting life! Tell me about it, please. What are some unlikely places she's shown up and been fabulous in? What's the draw to Seattle? What keeps her in Pawnee?
Keeping Up Appearances
I watched this show every time it was on PBS and laughed every time Hyacinth answered the phone. I just love her and her neighbors and her endless schemes. And the episodes where she had parties! Or rather where she planned them. We so rarely got to see them. I always wondered how they went. Particularly that one where her house is filled with too many plants, haha.
Again thank you for signing up for Yuletide! I hope you enjoy yourself <3.
