You didn’t mean to. At first, you tried your best not to really care. Stay cold. Stay like you’ve always been. But it was too complicated, too overwhelming and you couldn’t stop thinking about them. About him. You didn’t mean to hit her head over with a rock. But nobody seemed to understand that.
So you ran.
You ran away with the one you always thought would understand you, because it seemed to be the only escape. But it wasn’t like it was the perfect plan, because it got worse and worse by each passing day. Never in your life have you felt so alone.
You bounced from one town to the other, broke into random households to take showers, eat, and sleep. At night, you cried, wishing more than ever to go back in time, when your brother was still home, when everything was normal, or at least, close to normal.
The air was always too tight, but you began to take comfort in the darkness. The only thing that disturbed it all was the silvery trail of smoke escaping from the tip of your cigarettes. And then you waited for him. For a really long time, you waited.
