I can recommend several artists to you off the top of my head, such as Damien Rice (try "Lonelily," you're guaranteed to shed a tear.), the Shins ("Kissing the Lipless," "Chutes Too Narrow," "New Slang," "Caring Is Creepy"), uhhhhmmmm Guster (they're not really indie I don't think but they will yank at the strings of your heart, no less. see "Happier," "Say Goodbye," "What You Wish For," "Fafafa," "Amsterdam," "Two Points for Honesty"), Iron & Wine ("Cinder & Smoke," very passionate and mellow, simultaneously), Death Cab for Cutie ("Title & Registration," uhh... there are more, I'll get back to you on that.), and The Postal Service ("Such Great Heights," "Clark Gable," "Be Still My Heart," "We Will Become Silhouettes"). Pick a few. Enjoy. Be emotional, it's good for you.
