home again, for a while

Got back from Ottawa last night, at a decent time and had a nice relaxing take out dinner on the porch. Then I returned my landlord's call and found out that there was a flash flood while we were gone. 2 feet of water in the driveway and garage, but luckily this time he was able to plug the holes into the basement (he broke a broomstick and sledge ( Read more... )

I can see if I have a pallet lying around I could drive over ... That's what my washer & dryers on on.

I'm nervous about using a pallet since the floor slopes quite a bit there and the washer's legs are set at different lengths. It's not 100% level and shifts around a bit on the spin cycle. Plus I'd like it to be up at least 6", so I want something solid (no stacking) under it.

I'm surprised you can't build what you need out of pressure treated wood.

I am not good at building things (I wheedled my way out of shop class to take an extra sewing class). I'm currently contemplating bribing a friend to do it for me. :)

Hey - you could just make something out of Lego! It wouldn't rot, like wood does when it's soaked.
