So I was in Finland for a few days this week. I had to go to Riga for work and decided to take a couple of extra days off and fly to Finland (which is really rather cheap from Riga!), just for the hell of it. It was lovely. First I hung out with emiliachi for an evening, eating great Asian food and watching "Lost in Translation", and just talking a lot. ( Read more... )

They stole his shoes? WTF?
I'm sorry it happened, that sucks. I had someone steal from me at work the other week too and that wasn't a pleasant experience either even if I don't think they actually found much the take in the end.
I'm glad you had fun with Emilia.

Yeah, I have no idea why they took his shoes! I mean, they were new and they were proper good quality shoes, but not really a reason to break into someone's house... Maybe they needed good shoes for running away? :D

I can't believe someone would break in like that and steal such random stuff!

I know! It's so strange. They must've been really rather desperate and in a hurry, otherwise they probably would've taken better stuff.

I had fun, too, and I've been dreaming of the all-you-can eat sushi places ever since you mentioned them :D! We do have lots in common, too!

The whole burglary thing is just creepy...I hope this means, though, that nothing bad will happen to you in Denmark this time as this should even things out!

Haha, maybe! Maybe the thieves were Danish, who knows. :D

I will! I didn't really think about it, until I was almost leaving Helsinki and then I suddenly realized I could've met up with you too! Oh well, it won't be the last time I was in Helsinki, so I'm sure there will be other chances for us to have a cup of coffee together. :D

No, it's just ours. It doesn't make any sense, I don't think we have all that much more worth stealing than any of our neighbors, it's all the same type of people living here. I think we were just unlucky to be the random target of some idiots...
