Today was the very first official meeting of the future tutors of my Bethlehem Area Public Library Tutorship Program.

Plans are well underway for the beginning of the tutoring 'season' and all seems to be moving along smoothly.

My visit to FSU has encouraged me to pursue a doctorate in Library Studies/Information Sciences.

I thought I'd write about a few different topics... the benefits of the programs for the community, the benefit for the volunteers, the issue of 'kids in libraries', the issue of community learning (it takes a village and all that), something about the statistics of the program (this percent of volunteers receive community service hours, this percent of kids are homeschooled, etc.), and depending on how the library feels about it... a 'how to' set up similar programs elsewhere. For the book, I'd focus a lot more on the experiences of those involved.

Meg Maxwell is running the VMs, and I've got "Reclaiming Cunt"... not my first choice, but it'll do.

So... tell me some good things about your life, because I've read a bunch of frustration in your recent posts and I worry about my Courtney.
