[Thoughts] Uniforms in the Takumi-kun Series

Well, I was re-watching the first, second, and third Takumi-kun Series movies, and a question struck me about the uniforms.

Why do Takumi, Shouzo, and Gii all have different uniforms than the rest of the students?

It's not just in the Takumi-kun Series universe. Watch other high-school dramas. Apparently it's the norm in Japan that not every uniform is, well, uniform. I never quite understood it myself.

yeah, see I think they're ugly and totally say "COSPLAY" but I'm pretty sure it's just to make them stand out. Bright, happy (gay) color vs dark, gloomy, "ignore me" color... guess that's why.

which randomly brings be to the question of why the heck can't the awesome staff for the series fit Mao's uniform correctly? I know he's a skinny uke, but come on, it looks awkward being so huge on him, in 3 especially (then again, what if the scene of Takumi and Toshihisa was meant to be Takumi wearing Gii's uniform since he hadn't seen him in a while? hmmmm ^-^ heehee)

"One size fits all" <-- Asian fashion. XD That's my opinion, of course.

My friend theorized that it's to distinguish them from the sea of pretty boys hired to be extras. XD Har har.

Takumi in Gii's uniform? Hmm... ::light bulb goes off:: That would be a FANTASTIC idea for a fic....

Maybe because the directors wanted them to stand out from the rest and so the people won't be confused who the main actors are. If you stop and think the main actors in the story are the only ones with a different uniform :D
