::gasps:: What's this? A...Misu//Shingyouji fic?! What?!
I honestly thought that I would NEVER stray from Gii/Takumi in the Takumi-kun Series fandom. Seriously. But I was playing a playlist on my iPod when this popped up and wouldn't leave me alone despite the fact that I had two papers and four exams. ::sighs:: Such is my life.
Title: Forget Me Not
By: silentstar01
Category: Takumi-kun Series
Pairing: Misu/Shingyouji
Status: Complete
Chapters: 1
Author’s Note:
“Forget Me Not” is inspired by Monday Kiz’s “Two Men.” (I cried at this song… U.U) It’s also inspired by Yuzu’s “Aitai,” the theme song to the drama “Ghost Friends” starring Saki Fukuda and AAA’s Takahiro Nishijima (I cried at this song, too, and I hope I got the name right…). Again, spontaneous, angsty, drama in an AU future fic.
BTW, this is my first Misu/Shingyouji fic, so please be kind. ^.^ As always, comments are welcome.
Summary: Shingyouji Kanemitsu just wants his Arata-san to not forget him.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Takumi-kun Series.
Forget Me Not
Six months has already passed since Shingyouji’s departure when Misu Arata finds it hiding in one of his textbooks.
He stares at the innocent white envelope, addressed to him in Shingyouji’s scrawling script, and suddenly stops himself from dropping it into the waste bin. Instead, his thumb absently traces over the inscription, feeling the smooth lines of ink on the envelope. He is no hurry in opening it, because he just senses that it will be cheesy and absolutely useless.
Like Shingyouji himself.
With a mental sigh and shaking of his head, Arata turns the envelope over and breaks the seal, and pulls out a single white paper and a dried blue flower he immediately recognizes as Ne M’Oubliez Pas, Forget-Me-Nots.
Please don’t forget me.
-Shingyouji Kanemitsu
He stares at the simple words written shakily on the plain lined paper used as his canvas. His throat tightens, and the tears Arata thought he had banished to the back of his mind come rushing forward to the finish line, and drop down onto their final resting place.
He immediately closes his eyes to stop the falling tears, and immediately Shingyouji’s face flashes in front of his eyes behind his eyelids. His mouth curves into a bitter smile, mocking him of his folly. Of the blind, stubborn Misu Arata’s foolish pride.
Shingyouji is not here, but he haunts him more than ever with his absence.

“….probably will never see him again,” Shingyouji conversationally tells his empty shotglass. He smiles drunkenly, and props his chin with one hand, his eyes never leaving the bottom of the small cup. “Even when I still love him like this.”
He heaves a sigh, and his shoulders droop. Tears cling to lowered eyelashes as their owner continues in a low voice. “Never…again.”
He sits, alone, ignorant of a simple white envelope sitting in his mailbox, patiently waiting to be opened. A simple white envelope containing the stalk of single ambrosia plant, with its flowers dried in their place, and a single note:
Come back to me.

Hmm….I wonder what I wanted for this couple…. ^.^
In the language of flowers, the Forget-Me-Not means true love and memories; the ambrosia plant (there IS a flowering plant called the ambrosia, I was surprised to find out) typically means requited, or reciprocated, love. These are the typically accepted meanings of the two flowers, though experts frequently debate the meaning for many flowers.
Anyway, I was inspired, and wrote this in fifteen minutes. Enjoy. ^.^ As always, requests are welcome.
