Summary: This kinda follows my last fic, Secret. Things are bit tense since that happened and things are bound to blow up with all those vampire tempers around.
A/N: Man, I'm so tired. lol. But man I LOVE that banner. Not bad. :) I turn 22 on Sunday. I didn't think I'd make it this week, but as before spuffy_seeker came to my rescue. lol. *Hugs*

"You two are on the new development team for that line of our new necklaces. Now go and talk to Bob on 23rd floor about the designs." Gabriel told Aidan and Jay, who were sitting in front of his desk waiting for their next assignment. They usually worked great together but the last few days had been kinda tense between the two. Jay had no idea why Aidan kept avoiding him or giving him freezing, odd looks. To anyone else he looked normal, a bit quiet but normal but Jay knew something was wrong.
"Okay." Aidan just told his father, before standing up and buttoning up his suit jacket before heading for the door of the office and waited for Jay to follow but it wasn't like usually where they were all professional but smiling and joking. This was like they were two strangers who didn't like each others and Gabriel wondered what the hell had happened the last few days because he had to also live with them.
They got to the elevator, waited for it and the tension was really so thick you would have to cut it with a really sharp knife. They stepped into it after the doors opened and for about a floor and a half the only sound was that annoying old-school elevator muzak.
"So... do you think the designs will be usable? Because it has happened that he's given us crap." Jay asked him, while they went up the floors needed to meet with this Bob. Aidan just looked from the elevator buttons to Jay with this 'What?' in his eyes.
"Come on, Aidan. What's wrong? You've been a real grouch the last few days. I'd expect Renée to be one, not you." Jay told his best friend who just was now glaring at him and Jay had no idea why. He had just found him later in the pool room after that incident with Renée in the Great room which Jay isn't really sure what was but it had been nice. He did get the feeling that she was a bit absent, but she had been upset and angry, so he couldn't really blame her.
"What's wrong? Are you deaf? Blind, or were you just so very much enjoying Renée fucking feeding from you that you didn't noticed me behind you? Because she sure as hell noticed me. From the moment she bit down until I left she had her eyes on me. Like she was gloating, taunting me for something I had no idea I was supposed to know. Off course I found out later, but the damage was done. I knew you had a thing for her, but come on, wasn't that using her while she was in a state of shock?" Aidan asked Jay, who's jaw if it could would have fallen to the floor of the elevator.
"Umh, so you saw that? I swear I only went in there to comfort her, not to take advantage or anything. Plus, I feel it might have been the other way around if she was watching you the whole time. It's a little creepy, if I'm honest. Who does that?" Jay asked Aidan who was still just staring at him, oh now he understood why the avoiding the last few days. But he was pissed because his half-sister was feeding of and kissing Jay or Jay for letting her feed and kiss back? Oh, damn this was getting too soapy for his taste.
"Apparently a born half-vamp who's turned into a full fledged one who finds out that her adopted father is her biological father. I'm pretty sure she was trying to hurt me by using you." Aidan told Jay, who was getting kinda uncomfortable talking about this in a workplace elevator. He was pretty much trapped until they got to their destination unless he went out on the next floor they were getting to.
But he didn't need to push any button because just then the elevator stopped and the doors slid open to reveal Renée in all her glory. She was stunning in her slim gray pants that made her legs look fantastic, this black short sleeved shirt that that was enhanced by the fact that she had on her pearl necklace and drop earrings that had some tomato paste red stones. The only thing that didn't look very professional were her leopard-print open toed high heels.
"It worked, didn't it?" Jay asked Aidan before he stepped out of the elevator just as the doors were about to close again and Renée had taken his place next to her half-brother. "I'll just take the stairs. See you up there." He told the wide eyed Aidan who seemed to be pleading 'Don't leave me alone with her!'
It would take Jay only a few minutes to get up to the destined floor if he changed into a panther or something when he got into the stairway. He just had to make sure no one was around when he did it, or they'd be scared half to death because not everybody in the company were their kind. These things tended to scare the humans, like almost anything else.
"Hello Darkness my old Friend." Renée said after she had pushed the button of the floor she was going to. That was just so random and out of the blue, that Aidan looked at her wanting to just say What the fuck? but he didn't. He wasn't speaking to her at the moment, because after all she was the other half of his problem.
"What? It's the song playing. Okay, so the bad instrumental muzak version but still good song." Renée told him, before the elevator doors opened and she stepped out again before he could even move his plan to maim her into action.
