"Leave it alone, Aidan." Renée told her half-brother, as she was on her way to the pool. it was two weeks since she had turned Eli and well, those had been two fun filled weeks. Yeah, right. First there was Gabriel & Éloise coming home and finding out about Eli. Then the whole thing with Veronika and all, oh the paperwork
But this all just came with having a newbie under your wing. He wasn't all that bad, very eager to learn anything anyone wanted to teach him since there were older vamps than Renée around and she was pretty new herself, so they could teach him stuff she wasn't that great at or didn't know at all.
"I'm telling you. He is totally enamored with you. Follows you around like a little puppy." Aidan told her, as they got to the second floor and he mentioned Éloise's new rottweiler puppy who was the most adorable thing ever. Just ask anyone in the house. But Renée didn't say anything. She just looked at him with this expression on her face which was asking if he even knew what that meant.
"What? Renée, I was born 1900, I'm a hundred and nine years old. I'm bound to have picked up a few fancy words along the way. And I'm telling you, your pet is totally enamored with you." Aidan told her, as he continued on his way down to the street level.
She hated it when he called Eli that. It was so... degrading and she didn't even get the context. How was Eli her pet?
Though the trailing behind her like a puppy might ring a bell with her, but really that might just be because she was his sire and she probably meant safety to him right now. He wasn't with them right now because he was getting something to eat in the kitchen with her mom. Her mom kind of liked Eli, and was annoyed at her husband for being so cold towards the poor boy. Oh, no, nothing was his daughters fault. Renée heard them exchange some harsh words and she was trying her damn best. Damn it.
"Whatever, I don't care. And don't call him that. He has a name, use it." Renée told him, shrugging her shoulders and then she turned into a raven before flying down to the pool. No wonder that the raven had long since been all connected with ill omens and death, because seriously? Ravens are a pretty popular animal for vamps to turn into. At least the ones Aidan has known.
"What were you and Renée talking about?" Jay asked Aidan, as he walked up to him while munching on a carrot. He had been actually watching Bugs Bunny cartoons in the Projection room, which was a few steps away from where the open windows looked over the garden level indoor-pool.
"How she is totally blind to the fact that her pet is way infatuated with her. Also, she keeps forgetting that I'm not actually as old as I look, that I'm older." Aidan told him, while they walked back to the Projection room for some more cartoons.
"Ah, I see. I thought she asked you not to call him her little pet. Though how we could stop, I don't know. Poor thing." Jay told his best friend, smirking as he offered him a carrot and Aidan turned it down.
"Exactly. She'll come to see it our way. She's just a little touchy about it right now. Now, what's Bugs Bunny up to?" Aidan told Jay, grinning as they sat down in some seats and Jay got it ready to run.
"You can be so mean to your sister." jay told him, giving him a quick kiss before settling down in his chair to watch Elmer Fudd try and catch Bugs once again. Like that's ever going to happen.
"It's all done in the name of brotherly love." Aidan told Jay, and winked at him before getting comfy in his own chair.

EDIT: Hehe. So, I totally forgot that I kinda skipped forward into the future and still had Aidan a 107, when really he should now be a 109! But all fixed now.
