Hallo Poppet...

Percy paced, not because of any apparent reason outside his own agitation. The news of Gawain's return was less than pleasant, and worse still...the news was coming to him through those that knew him far better than they should. They all said the same, of course, that they never told Gawain where he was ( Read more... )

Mauri, or rather Gawain, walked down the path, the smile on his face warm though his heart was anything but. This was the place that two centuries ago Percy left him to die. Left him to burn. He still had the scars lining his chest from the burning. He could still remember the smell of his own flesh searing and charring.

Reaching a hand up to flick it through his long dark hair, he approached and bared his teeth in a grin. "William. At long last, we get to chat."

His head snapped around, eyes wide before they narrowed into a glare. His knife came up, as if the small blade could single-handedly hold off the undead man before him.

"Gawain," he murmured, licking his lips as he shifted on his feet, specks of rain flicking down on his skin. "What....how did you find me?"

Mauri stopped, glancing down at the knife before he frowned, his face dark. "Going to finish what was started so long ago? With such a small blade too?" He shook his head and then sighed.

"How could I not have? I was bound to find you after two hundred years, William." He paused, keeping well out of Percy's reach, eying the knife.

"Stop calling me that. No one calls me that." He inched a little closer, his eyes narrowed darkly as bared his fangs a little. "I'll gut you like a pig...you should have burned, it would have been better for you."

He meant that, as he lunged at Mauri, shifting his feet as he in hopes to keep his balance. His sire had always been a formidable fighter. Much more so than Percy.

Mauri's lips curved in a smile as Percy touched his fingers and he reached forward, catching his hand. He tugged Percy lightly forward, careful to not get bitten, kicked or punched. "Do you really hate me?"

Percy's eyes went a little wide as he pulled closer, before they narrowed and the vampire looked at his sire in a considering manner.

"I told you already...." Though, really, hate was just another form of love, was it not? You couldn't really hate what you had no feelings for.

Tilting his head, he reached his fingers forward and brushed some dark hair from Percy's face. "I know." He sighed and considered Percy before he pulled away, letting the vampire go.

"Why did you leave me? Was I truly that awful? To be worth leaving to die?"

"I thought I was just a ungrateful cur in your eyes, does it matter that I would leave you to die? Surely you would have done the same." He didn't move though, standing precisely where Mauri had left him. It was only with effort that the vampire did not look away, though his fingers twitched, tugging a little at the knife.
