I want to say that it is interesting to see this role reversal, but that sounds far too clinical. You've written Legolas' demeanor so well from Aragorn's pain-filled POV that we can so perfectly understand how he is feeling, especially in that moment where he fleetingly does catch Aragorn's eye.

I think the first time Aragorn/Estel was seriously wounded must have been a very, very difficult situation for both of them. It really is kind of a role reversal and it must have been quite hard for both of them to cope with it. I'm very glad it was easy to understand how Legolas was feeling!

Really, there's such a sense here that it's impossible to hurt one of them without causing the other the same pain.
That's perfectly the way I see it, though I don't think I could have put it into words. :)
