Thank you so much, Cairistiona! :) You couldn't have made me a more wonderful compliment, because that's really what I want my stories to be like and why I'm writing most of them. I'm very happy you enjoyed this story, my friend!

It must be so very difficult for Legolas as an immortal to deal with the subject of mortality, especially when it means losing a close at least one close friend one day. I hope remembering why he chose to befriend Estel in the first place will help him a bit (though you're right, it wasn't really that much of a choice, lol!).
I'm happy you liked the story! Thank you so much for your review! :D

Oh, poor Legolas! *hugs him* Having this event strike him so suddenly and keenly with the realization of Aragorn's mortality.... With a mere injury causing him this much grief, it must be truly frightening to think about what he will feel should (or when) he loses Aragorn altogether. And as an immortal, who will never have to deal with the idea of death in quite the same way, and doesn't look towards it as his natural end...I can't even imagine how much harder this must affect him. *hugs him again*
But aw, Elladan was so very encouraging, and that conversation between him and Legolas was both sweet and funny. Ah, Elladan full of all of his elder brother knowledge. *g* But I really think this is exactly the encouragement Legolas needs right now, as he's trying to grapple with the idea of his friend's mortality...and that he finally does realize that this brotherhood bond is worth all the risk of being hurt, and that in the end, that will outweigh all the pain ( ... )

The idea that Elladan and Elrohir might have seen Legolas as a younger brother is fairly new to me, but I love it. *g* That way, the twins get to impart their accumulated elder brother wisdom and Legolas gets the comfort he needs. I think it was really helpful that the twins were able to understand at least partly what Legolas was going through thanks to their experience with him. I think having such a friendship as Legolas shares with Estel is definitely worth both the risk and the pain. *hugs both of them*
