Ah, yes, thank you for this medical analysis. *passes you your favorite pain pills to take care of the Houseian-medical-headache*

I agree with you that House doesn't really deserve fury on Wilson's part. It really broke my heart the way they were talking right past each other in the episode, though.

Heh. Thanks. I usually flock these things so you can't know, but 'House medicine makes my head hurt' is pretty much included every time. It's tends to be somewhere between truly dreadful and ruddy awful.

I don't know if they were talking past each other. Wilson seemed in deep denial through most of it and House either didn't want to try or didn't know how to get through to him.

Could the diet pills/amphetamines she was taking (the ones hidden in her vitamin bottle) have caused complications with the amantadine?

Although I can't remember if they mentioned them again ... the vitamin bottle was produced and then I don't think it ever appeared again.

It did disappear. Well, they mentioned amphetamines and SSRIs and while amphetamines in particular can have a strong effect on heart rate, the amantadine dose would still have to be awfully high - and it would be constant or slowly declining after the collision rather than climbing to toxic levels.

Shhh, don't split hairs. If Amber doesn't die then there's no way we'll have our cliffhanger.

Meh. I can think of better ways to kill a twentysomething wom...Ehm, that doesn't sound quite right *backs slowly away from sentence*

The risotto was lovely though.

The medicine in House got fuzzy the minute a paralyzed guy got up from a chair from one shot of cortisol.

(as does the way the medical staff behaves Ugh 13 ugh)

No, it started before that. It was mostly consistent with this little thing I like to refer to as 'reality' during series 1 but since then it's become increasingly sensational.

I did like the ep, I loved all the H/W stuff in it (yay for House doing *everything* Wilson wanted him to do) and see lots of potential. I have to say I definitely envisage a multi-ep arc of House winning back Wilson (& personally I like the sound of that...)

But I didn't cry! Am I a heartless person?

Why? What does House have to win back? Wilson not trusting House is very much Wilson's problem. 'Winning back' suggests that a) House actively did something to cause Wilson to lose trust in him and b) House needs to atone or change that behaviour. For once, House didn't do anything wrong. He was being a very good friend to the point of metaphorically putting his brain in an industrial-strength blender. I can see Wilson needing to come around to it not being House's fault or being gently brought around to that conclusion, but I hope it won't be turned into some sort of elaborate grovelling on House's part.

*ponder* OK so 'win back' is possibly a bit strong. But I think House is going to have work hard on their friendship; and that it would be making light of a very serious event if they moved on quickly & forgot it all (a la certain other arcs in the past).

But then, I didn't cry. So what do I know?

*ponders too*

So perhaps we can meet somewhere in the middle and say that House probably has to prepare himself to carry more of the weight of their friendship if it's going to work - and that it's understandable if Wilson isn't too keen on House for a while because House is a reminder of everything that's gone wrong, but that Wilson needs to ultimately get his head out of his arse. Is that a workable compromise?

I can gather from my flist that (in between the squees and sobs) some people think that House deserves Wilson's considerable fury. I don't agree.
I agree wholeheartedly with this, which is why I'm possibly not looking forward to melodramatic Wilson-angst next season.
House a) didn't sleep with her after all and b) didn't mean for her to get on the bus or come and pick him up in the first place.
I thought the whole idea was that Amber died for a stupid pointless reason. Bus crash + whatever it was overdose + lack of ID = huuuuuge misfortune.

Oh, God, when House said he didn't want to be in pain anymore? My heart melted a little bit.

On the other hand, Wilson deliberately and openly asked his friend to risk his life, which said friend promptly did.I thought that was classic Wilson. "Okay, I'm making a compromise here. Now stick this wire in your brain, WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN JOGGLED AROUND ( ... )
