[VOICE]
I still have not gotten to the library; I think I shall go later this week. Perhaps on... Thursday?... since that is the day governed by Thelxiepeia, even if you don't call it by her name, here. Molpe, as the patroness of art, would be fortuitous as well; but Thelxiepeia is more aligned with learning, which is my ultimate goal ( Read more... )

I'll be there Thursday. What are you interested in reading about?

I'm not sure where I'd like to start... While I suppose religious studies might be the logical choice, I'm so fascinated by the scientific knowledge people here possess, I'm tempted to begin with that.

What do you tend to read, Raven?

There's no reason why you can't do both. Or the Library might decide that you're in desperate need of knowledge concerning the life cycle of inchworms.

I visit the literature and spellcraft sections regularly, but I'll read anything that catches my attention. And then, of course, there are the times when the Library decides that I desperately need to learn about the rich culture of hot-dog eating contests.

I have so much to learn in all fields, I'm sure anything would be welcome. Though I am relatively content with my understanding of inchworms. Still, one never ceases to learn.

I've never read much fiction; I was always too busy with my studies while in the schola, and with my duties, once I arrived in my manteion... So that would be an interesting diversion as well.

But, ah.. What is a hot-dog eating contest?

A duck?

Yes... Evidently his ducks have laid eggs, and in-- I think four weeks? there will be several ducklings in need of a home. I've found myself missing Oreb, so I volunteered, pending everyone's approval of course.

Is it a problem? I impose so much already, I will certainly tell Suresh I cannot take one if it is.

I have no objections to the creature.

Thank you; I am glad to hear it. I hope everyone is amenable.

I suppose I should look into the proper care of birds, too, while at the library.

The Kama Sutra.

Although you seem like the kinda guy who needs to get his head outta books for a while.

What sort of text is The Kama Sutra?

I do tend to be a bit wrapped up in such matters... Though aside from keeping up with the goings-on here I have not done much reading, as of late... Before I came here and after.

[ooc: now i can't get the idea of him picking it up to read and spazzing out of my head. :3]

It's historic. And instructional. Do you need any other reasons to go get it?

Yeah? Why not? Curses, and stuff?

[ooc; XD Oh god that's so cute. ;_; I FEEL BAD NOW. XD Perverting puppyish innocence, one victim at a time.]

Perhaps I will look it up, then.

The curses have not affected me personally, but I've stayed in to avoid some of the worse messes. Beyond that, I've been trying to get used to this whorl, and learn about others'... Which, I must admit, takes up a great deal of my time.

[ooc: FOR GREAT JUSTICE HILARITY. He's not all that innocent, but he'll be, uh. Surprised to find out what's just been suggested to him. >D]

Kant.

I suggest it to everyone lately.

Given how interesting I've found our conversations, I was hoping you'd have a suggestion to make.

What is Kant?

A philosopher. One of the more famous ones, from where I am from.

Even if you disagree utterly with him, well. Reading a philosopher always, at the very least, reaffirms for us what we don't believe.

I will certainly look him up, then. Is there a particular work you'd recommend?

What to read depends on what you want, for what you are looking.

I'm looking for any number of things... Merely trying to figure out where to begin.

If you were at a loss, what would you start with?

At a loss? I am at a loss.

So many things--Shakespeare, perhaps.

I have never heard of Shakespeare, but I will look.

The more suggestions the better! I do not know how long it will be before I return to Viron; I may have time to read everything in the library. The gods only know.
