Merry Christmas, Silk! Thank you so much for the platypus!

[ooc: Silk got a hand-knit sweater and a tin of peppermint cookies!]

I am glad you like it! I'd never seen one before, have you? I thought it was a rather curious creature.

Thank you for your gifts as well, Lucy. The sweater is quite handsome, and very warm.

I've only seen pictures, they are rather odd.

You're very welcome!

I'm told they lay eggs, like birds. I don't think Viron is the right kind of place for them, though for all I know they might have them in other parts of my whorl.

Silk! Oh, this is wonderful! And the paper! Oh, I shall save that forever.

[She gave Silk a book of Lakota tales.]

The art on the paper was done by miss Hiyori-- I don't know if you've met?-- and it's wonderful; I am glad you like it!

Thank you so much for the book, Rain-- I am trying to read it slowly, to make it last!

I don't think I have, but it is ever so beautiful. I wonder if I could get it framed.

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it!

I shall! And I hope you enjoy yours!

They are; most of the Writings are, even when read out of context.

I suspect they are meant to tell me something, though-- the mention of Hyacinth-- I can't imagine what it means.

And I'm afraid I know only the flower.

The flower itself is intended, too-- any passage from the Writings is bound to have more than one meaning. Indeed, perhaps I assumed too quickly that the message involves the person.

And thank you for yours, Hiyori-- and for doing such swift and excellent work on the portraits! I hope you didn't mind the wrapping-paper; I thought it would be a nice surprise.
