[Megumi glances up at Mitsuhide as they lay in bed together, her eyes soft and comforting, warm with love. To be with him again like this is such a poignant joy--oh, she had missed him so much, so much, and now, he was finally back in her arms. She brushes his hair back softly, cherishing his closeness, his warmth, their communion together.]
[As she expected, he is not ready to speak of what happened yet. And she will not ask until he is. Right now, he needs her presence, her love, and that is what she will give.]
[Her arms are wrapped snugly about him, and she draws herself closer, pressing her forehead to his.]
I've missed being with you like this, Mitsuhide, beloved . . .
[Her voice is soft, tender, and she gives him a gentle smile.]
But what matters now is that we are together again, as we are meant to be--as we should be, and will always will be.

[He gives a slight nod of the head. There is no smile, but his eyes are soft, and he is holding her close to him.]
I am... fine, beloved. Just glad to be with you again.
[His head is resting on the pillow, and he does not raise it. He still needs to rest, and with his survival instincts still running through him, does not fight the necessary healing.]
I still require some time to rest, though not more than a few days. I wish to make myself useful in the police force once more, especially considering what is happening right now. These poisonings are cruel and barbaric.
[He bites his lip a little, pushing back certain memories. It is the present he must be concerned with. Mitsuhide gazes softly at his wife.]
...I love you, you know. I am sorry if you suffered at all while I was gone.
[She embraces him tightly, warmth flowing through her at once again being able to hear him say those words to her, and at being able utter them in return to him as well.]
[The past week . . . yes, she had suffered, and grief had weighed upon her heavily. It was so painful to be parted from him, and while her work had kept her preoccupied, it had not stopped her from feeling so empty without him. She had lost so much in the past, and the thought of losing her beloved Mitsuhide hurts her the most. But, more than her own pain, her grief was worse because she knew that he was suffering--bearing the trials and hardships that he was destined to endure and to face for the sake of Japan. She wanted nothing but to be able to hold him again, not just for her sake but for his, to soothe his hurts and to give him strength . . . to bear everything with him . . .]
[She gazes up at Mitsuhide, her eyes limned with tears.]I worried more for you, my love . . . I prayed that you were safe, and that

[Suffer that pain...]
[He blinks, a look of despair moving across his features for just a moment as his mind is caught in what is now the past. However, it disappears as quickly as it came, and he holds her even closer, focusing on her warmth. The present, and the future, is what matters.]
I am glad to be able to do so, love. It is wonderful to lay next to you again.
[A hand is raised to touch her cheek and wipe away her tears.]

Good to have you back! It hasn't been quite that long in the city, but your friends and loved ones have certainly missed you.
As for what's going on, everyone is now on alert because of citywide attacks via poisoning and diseases. They're not curse related, so are being launched from someone, or most probably a group of someones, within the city.
We're currently hunting down the dispensors for the illnesses and trying to track them back to their source.

I... thank you very much.
I have been checking the network. These assaults are most barbaric... I know of poisons being used by cruel men to hurt and kill others, but diseases is something that is new and horrifying to me. Why anyone should wish to do something so barbaric to the people here I do not understand, but I shall not sit idly by.
Has any progress been made with that yet? If it is a group, as it must be, they are likely to cover one another's tracks...

I just wished that you could have returned to a calmer city.
We've had diseases run through the city before, but it was always curse based. This is the first time it's been inflicted by some members of the city itself, but not too unexpected, all considering.
So far the dispersal methods of three of the five illnesses have been found. Through infected rats for the plague and through flying devices for the laughing and paralyzing poisons. The vomiting illness is believed to be caused by arsenic, although how it's getting into the food is still unknown. The last sickness is believed to be something called 'ebola'.
Cures and antidotes are being worked on for all of the diseases, if they haven't already been distributed. Several people are trying to use the flying devices to track down the source of all the illnesses at this time.

Calmness has never common in my life. I am used to it now.
Yes, you are correct. After all, there will always be those who wish ill intent on others.
Three of five... so there are five seperate illnesses. I wonder if each were created by a different person? But the important thing is that the cures are being worked on, and some finished. Hopefully this, ah... epidemic will end soon. But of course, now that it had happened, finding those who did it is the problem.
I fear these investigations may go on for a long while.

It's been a long, long week.
Welcome home Mitsuhide-sama. ^_^ We missed you... but well, Akechi-sensei missed you the most. ^^
Some things... are best kept to one's self. ^^ You don't need to talk about it if you don't want to. The past is the past now, and what's important is that you're home... in Akechi-sensei's arms. ^_^

Ah, Kuromi. Thank you.
For now, most definitely. It is the present and future that matters although... perhaps I should ask Megumi when I left history later... it could be important.

I am glad to hear it. These poisonings are most barbaric. I will do my utmost to assist the investigations once my wounds are healed up.
