In S1 of Revolution I kept waiting for it to get good, and then it didn't, and then they killed a bunch of people and blamed the end of the world on nanobots and suddenly it wasn't so bad. The shift of focus away from the kids and onto Rachel and Aaron and Miles definitely helped.
By contrast, this season is ~~cooooooool~~. The worldbuilding is so much better now... like last week's episode, where someone was playing a wind-up record player in a bordello. Because duh there are other ways to do things than just by electricity. It always bothered me that there was so little alternate-tech in the Monroe Republic. Anyway: the more effed up this season gets -- and man is it getting effed up -- the more interested I am. Zombie!Aaron, who suddenly has clairvoyance and can burn things with his mind! Bodies buried in the basement! Conspiracies! Strategery! I legitimately have no idea what they're going to do next, because this show has gone off the rails in the best possible way, and I'm actually interested now.
Arrow -- I'm actually a little disappointed that the Black Canary (I think that's who this other vigilante is?) is not Laurel, because at least that would make Laurel interesting.
The Tomorrow People has so far been much too by-the-numbers. The pilot was one of the pilotiest pilots that ever piloted... I mean, I get that they need to introduce all the players and their basic conflicts, but the way they did it was kind of dull all around. The second episode was also very monster-of-the-week, like it was written to show the network "this is what a standard episode of our show will be like." Tonight's episode, though, finally showed some potential. We got some interesting backstory on one of the main cast, and a couple of interesting missions, and some moral conflict. Stephen's powers solved problems in a way that wasn't tooooo deus ex machina-y. My one issue is that it doesn't make a ton of sense for Astrid to be pissed off that Stephen didn't tell her about his powers because he totally did, in the pilot, and she didn't believe him.
Agents of SHIELD is getting good! The woman in the flower dress was creepy enough to be really interesting. I'm a little tired of the focus being on Skye and her loyalties all the time, although I get that she's basically the audience's POV character in entering the world of SHIELD. I would like to know a little more about May, or Fitz and Simmons, who have so far mostly been the comic relief and the ones with convenient fixes to various plot devices.
I watch too much TV. I'm about ready to go through and nix a lot of season passes. For instance: NCIS is good on reruns every once in a while, but do I really need to watch it every week? Apparently not; there's two or three episodes queued up in my DVR. Plus, with Project Get Out of the Apartment More in full swing, it's hard to keep up on these shows. The DVR is capable of recording more hours of television than there are hours in the week, which is a problem if you're a little OCD'y about "completeness."
