So much television!
Kind of fun! I am not sooooo conversant with Batman canon, but I recognized at least Poison Ivy, the Riddler, the Penguin and (obviously) Catwoman. I like what they're doing with the makeup on the villains-to-be, the kind of faded pallor thing. It was a little more violent and psychologically bleak than I'd been expecting, but I guess that's been the trend for Batman interpretations in the last little while.
Totally faked me out in the first fifteen minutes. I thought they'd done a time jump or that I'd missed an episode. Or that I'd fallen asleep during some key plot elements in the finale. Which has definitely been known to happen with this show. I want to like the show -- the leads are entertaining and have good chemistry -- but inevitably I get drowsy during some bit of exposition and when I tune back in I've lost the thread. Tonight's adventure was a bit slight, apart from the trickery of the first quarter, but I guess it was necessary to get the gang all back together.
Well... New Amsterdam was better when it was Highlander. Despite myself, I kind of liked the show. Ioan Griffud is a ~~terrible~~ actor, and he was fed ~~terrible~~ lines, but, I dunno, I'll give it a few more episodes? I'm sure it'll be cancelled before long anyhow, so what's the harm?
The Blacklist is on past my bedtime. Which should have been two hours ago. But fall premieres!!!
