The most important thing to get out of the way is that I didn't get the MBC job. Oh, well. I wasn't particularly expecting it but I was hoping. However, after updating my resume at a couple of online places a couple of weeks ago I got a whole bunch of emails from contracting companies with short-term job offers. I did get some office gossip out of it. And I could actually have warned them about the problem if I'd been there but, hey, that's what you get when you lay off the person who knows things and pays attention to patterns.

Every job I've had since my lay off from AltaVista has been held with a lurking cloud of 'oh god, if I make any mistakes I'll be fired!' So I totally understand that feeling.

Judging by how that place sounded, I definitely felt they were just messed up.

I'm hoping you get something great soon! Contracts can turn into perm, so I'll cross my fingers that you get a nice contract.

Those extra crossed fingers must have really helped since I just got word that I got the position I interview for on Wednesday. :) For more than I was making before!
