that's reallt strange that you wrote this, because i felt the exact same way at football games... it was like, swarming people around you but you still feel separated from it all. it's so easy to step aside and look at the masses of people, knowing that most of them don't know that you're standing there. i don't know why this is, but maybe it's because we're the band outcasts. maybe some of us just don't do well in crowds. i'm not sure. but i've experienced it, too. :) we're lonely together! (oxymoron!) woot.

Exactly!! -whew- i'm glad someone understands. it's not so much the crowds as the fact that everyone HAS someone, like friends come up to say hi to other people, but I'm always the observer. Through it all, however, I had a blast, really, and I'm looking forward to the away game on friday.

And you're right, loneliness is empowering! That's why I joined marching band and it's been a great decision! It made me want to get out there and change the way I felt about school.
