Chapter Four
Kyuhyun lay awake all night, haunted by Sungmin’s and Ryeowook’s behaviour.
When he looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand and it said 6:00AM he could have sworn that if he had slept at all, it was only to have had nightmares about it.
He got up from bed, threw on some clothes and sat down on the bed again, staring into the wall of his hotel room, waiting for it to be a more decent hour.
Kyuhyun wasn't very good at wasting time like this though and 6:21AM he looked at the alarm clock once more, decided that it wasn't going to be less painful the later he did it (it might even be a good thing if Ryeowook was still half asleep, he thought), and he went out on the hallway and knocked on Ryeowooks door.
This boy was known to be able to sleep 18 hours a day, which was no wonder when he usually didn't get the chance to sleep much, but Kyuhyun just kept knocking.
Eventually the door next to Ryeowook’s opened and Sungmin peered out.
He smiled a strange smile and Kyuhyun didn't know if it was approvement or sadness or both. He closed the door before Kyuhyun could say anything and suddenly Ryeowook stood before him, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
Kyuhyun forgot everything for a moment.
What was he going to say?
He hadn't thought of anything, he just knew he had to... Had to tell him, somehow, something, not sure how or what.
"Ryeowookie.." he began.
Ryeowook smiled innocently to Kyuhyun, looking tired as hell.
"Did you have a nightmare?" he asked and pulled Kyuhyun with him into his room, where he hugged him close.
"Was it about spiders?"
Kyuhyun felt his heart beat increase rapidly and somehow wanted Ryeowook to stay this close forever, yet at the same time was embarrassingly aware that the boy could probably hear his heart beat in this position.
Hell, maybe even Sungmin next door could hear, that loudly it was beating.
"No.. No, it wasn't about spiders..." Kyuhyun finally managed to answer as he put his arms around Ryeowook’s tiny body and held him even closer. Screw the heartbeat.
"Tell me you love me more than you love Sungmin hyung." Kyuhyun didn't ask it, he demanded it. He needed to hear it, Ryeowook had to understand that. He had to!
It didn't seem like he did though.
"Evil Kyu~~~ it's mean to ask me to choose one friend over another." he said instead. Kyuhyun was too much in a panic to notice Ryeowook fighting a smile.
"I.. I...." where was Kyuhyun’s quick wits when he needed them the most?
"I'll allow you to date me! Then it's okay for you to love me more, right?"
Ryeowook couldn't help but to laugh. This was all so amazing and sweet and ridiculous.
"Okay. Since you so kindly granted me the permission to date you, I'll do it."
And the smaller boy stood slightly on his toes (later he would wish he had had his insoles, but now wasn't the time for such thoughts) and he kissed Kyuhyun ever so sweetly.
Kyuhyun was blown away. Sungmin had known, obviously Ryeowook had known too, and Kyuhyun, who only just now knew, called himself a genius, a Steve Jobs? Yet whatever pain had been there since he had seen Sungmin and Ryeowook act all silly and in love with each other was washed away by the sweetness of the kiss.
Ryeowooks lips were soft and he smelled like lavender and Chinese herbs and Kyuhyun’s stomach fluttered with butterflies and he knew that he had found something he liked more than singing.
