Seabolt alone wouldn't have bothered me. There are some crazy zealots and they make great villains. But there's also the Smith family and just some random comments here and there. Dinah and Bobby made some really negative comments about mainstream Christianity in "Play with Fire". It happens often enough in the books that it takes me out of the story and sidetracks me with, "Here we go again on Christianity." I'd already hit that point before I read "Play with Fire" so it isn't just a reaction to that novel ( ... )

I'd actually really like more information about the native beliefs, but it's my understanding that some native groups are quite careful with sharing much detail about religious beliefs and spiritual traditions. Like you need to have the permission of the person who who taught you spiritual traditions to share them with anyone who is not in the tribe or married into your family ( ... )

I started this last year. It really helped me focus on what I was reading and making sure I had a variety of genres on my reading list. I think that's important to being well-read. I have several friends who also do this and reading their lists gives me reading suggestions. As a result, I have a huge to-read list.
