One time I was living with a boyfriend. He woke up in the morning, couldn't find his stash of money and coccaine (which I didn't know about until he couldn't find it). Oh, honey. I am sorry you are going through this. And I have nothing I can offer, other than sympathy. It would be impossible to truly understand how hurt and betrayed you must be feeling...though I sense you are mostly feeling hurt and betrayed by yourself, for trusting and loving someone who was the source of so much unhappiness ( ... )

I know I have little to compare your experience with, however, here is my two cents worth. You will need to grieve for the 'good' memory of your father. It's sort of like he fell off the pedestal you kept him on. When you have finished grieving, for it does take time and there are many stages of loss, you will forgive him. It won't be today, tomorrow and maybe not next week, but one day you will. I don't know if self help type books are helpful to you or not, but I know "How to Survive the Loss of a Love" helped me out when Mom died and Rich and I split in the same year. Another thing might help, if you're into writing, write a letter telling him how hurt you are, etc. as if you were going to mail it. Of course you can't mail it, but sometimes putting it on paper helps, you could even go so far as to go to the grave site and read it to him, or just use the 'burn' delivery (throw it in the next campfire ( ... )
