I'm not claiming total victory yet, but I just quoted Clausewitz in the text of my book.    I still have a terrifyingly long way to go before the editor gets any of this, but if Clausewitz is already represented, I know the omens are auspicious.

at least I keep telling myself that.

ROFLMAO - I do actually mention Panzers in the next section (as in, they are not commonly used in corporate negotiations) Perhaps I should footnote it?

:D

sadly I have not yet worked Castiglione into the text.

perhaps we'll see how punchy I get before the deadling - I can work in obscure footnotes for everyone!

Shatner is in a form licensing agreement - but I may not end up using that one - so you're right - I'll have to work something else in.

But have you quoted Acton? Admittedly, I'm biased.

lol - getting Clausewitz worked into an Intellectual Property text was a stretch already - Lord Acton huh? that would be a challenge. got a favorite quote?

I do, indeed, though it would be even more of a stretch to work it in:

"The danger is not that a particular class is unfit to govern. Every class is unfit to govern."

ROFLMAO. now that is a challenge. I wonder if i can figure out a way....

hell I even kind of cheated with clausewitz by mentioning the Moltke quote that is misattributed to him ( the no strategy surviving first engagement with enemy quote)
