rejection

So I got rejected from UCLA and Cal. I guess I guess I"ll be off to UCSD, which is a good school. And I'm not writing this post to complain about the fact that I got rejected from my First Choice; I'm writing this cause I feel regretful about not trying hard in school ( Read more... )

everything is obvious in retrospect. but at the time, you were doing what you thought was right, and you had a lot of fun doing it. have fun at ucsd =). college is just the beginning of a very long journey into adulthood

If you're going to graduate school it will not matter where you attended for undergrad. UCSD is the same as UCB or UCLA in these terms; in the end, all that will matter is where you went for grad school, and even then, your admissions for grad school will not be impacted by you going to UCSD instead of UCLA or UCB.

I know why you feel remorseful, but you need to destress yourself a bit. You're putting a bit too much pressure on yourself and too much emphasis on UCLA/UCB over UCSD. You did great, you got into a good school and you had a great high school career; just take a step back and look at it from a different standpoint.
