I think it's pretty accurate, at least the part where, were we to accept the stakes of our game, we accept some sort of finality.
However, I don't know that getting the ball in the basket or what have you are that unconstructuve. Or, at least, it might be said we seek unconstructive goals because what we seek is the game itself. Perhaps insofar as we're playing games, we're being constructive, in some sense.
