Because "Shawn who is a marine I have probably met" got hit by a land mine in Iraq, is on life support, and doctor's don't think he's gonna make it. I know that Amanda's boyfriend was in the military and in Iraq but I didn't remember his name. I'm assuming he's Shawn.
