Attention Johnheartpaul readers! We're holding a John/Paul writing contest!
Some of you may know I contemplated a while back about starting a writing contest as some other fandoms have already done. I'd like to say thank you to those of you who gave the amazing feedback! Anyway, this is the real contest...
The theme of the contest is...
food. That means your submissions must be related around or have something to do with any food item.
Deadline: Submissions must be posted by Saturday, March 24. No submissions posted on JHP after Saturday will be accepted. Please keep this in mind, knowing that sometimes it can take a day or two for entries to be posted on JHP.
We (Emily and I) will be determining winners based on these categories:
- Best AU (Alternate Universe)
- Most Original
- Best Fluff
- Best Smut (Virgins: google it)
- Best Comedy
Each winner for each category will be given special custom-made virtual prize, bragging rights, and a slice of chocolate cake. (You'll see)
Rules:
- The entries must be a work of writing (not an art contest)
- Should focus on John Lennon/Paul McCartney, and other pairings will be allowed, but will not be judged
- Please: No rape, no pedophiles, no tragic killings of major characters unless the person actually died that way (i.e. Brian Epstein)
- No more than two parts to a story, and if your story is split in two, be sure to include links to both on both entries.
Criteria:
- When you write an entry, post it here to Johnheartpaul. (Or, as some writers prefer, you may post it to your own journal and post that link here. But be sure it still follows this criteria.)
- CLEARLY LABEL the title of the piece, and (IMPORTANT) in the title or description make it evident that your story is part of this contest.
- You may or may not specify the category your story will fall under (see above)
- We'll be keeping track of the stories and judging them as the deadline approaches.
It is preferred that you use this template in the description of your story:
Title:
Author:
Rating:
Warnings:
Summary:
Author notes: (optional)
Also, your story does not need to be beta'd, but bear in mind that good spelling, grammar, etc will effect who the winners shall be.
Any questions/comments? Write it here, or message Emily and me personally on our journal,
sillygirlmartha.
Good luck! We look forward to seeing what kind of creative fanfictions y'all can come up with! Tell your friends!(:
~Blakely and Emily
