anyone else every encounter anything like this, any suggestions? Yes, I've tried near-overdosing on pain killers, no dice.

I feel your pain, almost literally. I haven't had migraines, but when I was a kid (or rather, living at my mom's house up until the age of 23) I would get horrible, feel-like-knife-stabbing menstrual cramps. I would scream and cry and because my mom was/is a natural doctor, I could take NOTHING for the pain. No Advil, Tylenol, nothing. *eye roll* I could microwave a heat pad and that was it. I don't know how I survived.

Now I can take all the pills in the world to make the pain go away. YES! If I ever get bad headaches, I take Excedrin Extra Strength, in a green bottle and it works pretty well for me, if you're looking for an otc med. I usually get bad haeadaches on the left side of my head, lovely.

Hope you feel better soon!

if they're true migraines, the only thing that will probably work for them in prescription migraine meds, which you probably can't get, because you probably don't have health insurance. If you do, your best bet would be to find a head doctor (haha, no really) who can prescribe imitrex or one of the other brands. if they're really affecting your quality of life and/or ability to function, regular OTC stuff probably isn't going to cut it.

there are also diet changes and stuff you can do in order to manage them, like avoiding bananas (not kidding) and caffeine at certain times.

i do have health insurance (thank you State of Maryland) and I thought caffeine was a good thing? Excederine Migraine has caffeine in it. Usually by the end of the day I get the headaches under control, but then the pain killers wear off over night so I wake up with the headache and it pretty much hinders the first 4-5 hours of my day, and any other time I forget to take preventative OTC pain killers

Yes, on the pill already, been on pill since I was 16, recently been switching around a though because the one I was on stopped "working" in the sense that I was getting my period randomly and not when I was supposed to. but I've been on this current one for about 4 months and the headaches have been going on longer

Oof, I vote you talk to your ob/gyn and try a new brand, sounds like this one might be effing with your head.

*might be messing with your head too? I'm confused about how long you've been getting the migraines.
