What do you do when your boyfriend's mom is not a good person and you don't want to be around her :(

Alex's mom is kind of neurotic and crazy and does really irritating inconsiderate things a lot, which usually I just bite me tongue and ignore because I am staying in her house and it's not my business; but a few weeks ago she threatened to put Alex's cat down because all the cats had fleas, but Alex's cat had fleas the worst and it was her fault
