So you wanna be an Engineer?

I want to be an Engineer. I'm trying to think of a senior project and get my focus together now that I have engineering electives to take. I just don't know what to do with myself. A mechanical engineer interested in alternative energy? Do I focus on energy conversion? Design power plants? Do solar power? What? >< This calls for a Masters, but I ( Read more... )

Power plants are pretty sweet. The future for our time is not solar though, it's combined cycle gas turbines. Then if nothing goes wrong they'll have fusion power going some time when we're old. Solar power's only going to be any good in outer space.

I wanna try and run a house entirely off hamsters...Yes, hamster power is the way to go...Just feed em a little bit, and off they go in the wheel. And the best part is you don't have to worry about running out of power, because hamsters have so many babies. lol

ya know, if you're interested in alternative power sources talk to sachin. scotalnd has made a pledge to turn a certain percentage of its power supply into totally renewable, and as such has been giving out research internships like crazy (he did one this summer). you could totally do that. and i think it'd be hawt if you had a scottish accent. hawt or weird...
