one of the great disappointments of later-seasons Buffy is the slow but very real loss of Willow's Willowness. I loved early-seasons Willow.

You are so right on. It was part of how all the characters (except Xander?) got darker, and the action got darker, and that made it less fun. But Willow esp. Though at the same time I do love Bondage Action Willow, and don't blame the ENTIRE MALE POPULATION OF THE EARTH for feeling the same (or rather more, but there you go.) On those same lines, I have never understood the Alyson Hannigan OBSESSION that most geek guys have, but it . . . encourages me? Geeky girls are desirable - ? That's gotta be good, right? ;-)

Re Joss and marriage, your rant makes me want to break out the typewriter and tell the world MY story, so that a good thing. :-) However, I think you and whoever said he doesn't believe in happiness are... mostly right. What about Kalee? What about Zoe and Wash? Is this why Wash had to die in the movie?

KITTEN POKER!Heeheeheee!!!! "You play for *kittens*?" "Well, we are evil ( ... )

Oh, definitely! Though...I, uh, I didn't know that's what we were calling her. Heh.

Really? I wasn't aware of this. I wonder how they feel about her now, on HIMYM--where she's delightful as Lily, but very...tan.

I believe so, yes.

Evil Nathan Fillion! You are gonna DIE!!!

So that IS coming up?! I couldn't remember whether it was BTVS or Angel that had Evil Fillion. BONUS.

A final note: I always knew you'd end up a Spike girl. :-)

Really? I'm a little surprised at myself, actually. But OH SPIKE.

Bondage Action Willow

You know, I don't honestly remember if I made this up or someone else did! But it is in current use. :-) As a generic term describing the Badass Alternate Universe version of a female scifi character. And it amuses the hell out of me that a generic term is appropriate.

Well, Angel always seemed so BORING to me compared with Spike, as a character. And I know how you love all that character action. Not to mention the redemption angle. ;-) ... Not sure what I mean by that...

A contemporary quote from Whedon stated that he'd conferred with Tudyk and they'd agreed that there wasn't anything more to do with the character. But I've never seen any quotations as sillyzilly2k references above in which Whedon states that he broke up Xander and Anya because marriage is uninteresting to write. Taken together, they probably come to the same thing. A thought occurs as I write: If Whedon didn't want to deal onscreen with the Washburnes' decision to have a child on a borderlands smuggling ship, he could have written Wash out by having him settle on a planet with the child. But, nooo.
Another thing I heard, during BVS Season 7 I think, was that Whedon was using the Xander-Anya relationship to work through his own failing marriage. If that was true, it was still cowardly to break them up because he didn't want the writing challenge but it's a little more motivated.

Reading this was such a great help. Anti aging skin products is such a complicated thing and this article explained it well. Many thanks to this new information.
